Spreading Joy: Help Us Bring Bike Adventures to Montview Elementary Students

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Aurora Wellness Community are teaming up with Wish for Wheels, and we need your support! Your contribution, no matter the amount, will bring moments of joy and bike adventures to students this holiday season.

Our aim is simple: to raise funds to gift 80 bicycles, helmets, and locks to Montview Elementary School's 80 2nd-grade students. For many families, this is a resource that's out of reach. The impact of your support is immeasurable, not only for the students but also for their families.

If our goal is met, we'll host a special event called Bike, Build, and Give exclusively for the 2nd-grade students. We extend an invitation to all donors to join us for this heartwarming event. Additionally, the school will conduct essential bicycle safety sessions, ensuring that the students can ride safely.

Montview Elementary School, situated a mile west of the Anschutz campus, holds a unique place in our hearts. Here's a snapshot of our school community:

- 85.5% of our families qualify for free or reduced lunch, highlighting the financial challenges they face.
- Following the closure of Paris Elementary School in May 2023, many former Paris Elementary students transitioned to Montview, alongside a significant number now enrolled at Crawford Elementary.
- More than 70% of our students speak languages other than English at home, showcasing our diverse and multicultural community.
- In just a year, our student population has soared from 260 to 420, welcoming new families from Venezuela and various other countries.

In the midst of these significant changes and needs, our mission remains focused: to ensure that kids get the opportunity to simply be kids.

Your contribution will not only provide bicycles but also offer a sense of normalcy, joy, and a chance for these children to experience the thrill of riding a bike—a childhood milestone that every child deserves.

Join us in making a difference in these students' lives. Your support will not only create unforgettable moments but also foster a spirit of community and kindness.

Let's come together and spread the joy of bike adventures to the incredible students at Montview Elementary School!
