Pursuing Our Mission

Aurora Wellness Community (AWC) is committed to building a brighter future for all residents, transcending boundaries, and creating opportunities for growth and prosperity. By collaborating with community members, educational institutions, and local organizations, we seek to break the cycle of disparity and empower individuals and families in Aurora to thrive.

AWC will achieve its mission through three interconnected focus areas:

1. Clinic:

  • Initiate a primary care practice in North Aurora to serve residents in the target zip codes.
  • Focus on full-scope family medicine, preventive care, acute care, and chronic care.
  • Partner with CU Medicine and community organizations to provide comprehensive healthcare services, including support for social determinants of health.

2. Food Hub:

  • Create a sustainable community food hub in partnership with local grocers and community food support organizations.
  • Address the limited access to healthy foods in the target zip codes by providing fresh produce and meats.
  • Offer food prescriptions to patients in need and support various community food banks.

3. Multi-Generational Care:

  • Establish drop-in daycare services for patients with clinic appointments, addressing the issue of missed appointments due to childcare challenges.
  • Work with the local daycare co-op to offer community-based daycare options for families in Aurora.
  • Plan for future elder care options to support families caring for both children and elders in these communities.

Join us on this transformative journey, as we embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, and work together to create a community where health, wealth, and well-being are accessible to all. Together, we will foster a brighter, healthier, and more prosperous Aurora.

Aurora Wellness Community Provides Neighborhood Care for Medicare and Medicaid Recipients/Aurora Wellness Community Continúa Brindando Atención de Vecindario

These programs continue to serve Aurora residents every day. What’s changing most is the paperwork, not the current state of care. Our job, as part of this community, is to help one another stay informed and supported so that no one delays the care they need out of fear or confusion.
