You’re invited to our AWC Health Fair!
Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (open house)
Health fairs are not merely about providing medical services; they're about empowering communities to take charge of their health. By actively involving community members in their own healthcare decisions and offering resources that cater to their unique needs, these events promote a sense of empowerment and ownership over one's well-being
AWC Health Fair Resources available include:
- Medical screenings (e.g. blood panels, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose)
- Educational resources
- Community activities
- Food trucks
- And MORE
For individuals with limited access to healthcare facilities due to economic or cultural barriers, these fairs become a vital avenue for basic health assessments and building trust for accessing care through a low-barrier touchpoint. Detecting health issues early can prompt timely intervention and referrals, preventing complications and reducing healthcare disparities.
Introducing our AWC Health Fair Partner Aurora Science & Tech
Aurora Science & Tech (AST) is a STEM middle and high school in Aurora, Colorado. Partnering with AST we hope to cultivate a long-term pathway for students envisioning themselves in the healthcare industry. Students will be bridges between younger and elder community members, amplifying community involvement. This strategy aligns with AWC's long-term vision, aiming to model a comprehensive healthcare approach for our community's well-being.
